Ashburton businesses have taken delivery of a beautiful selection of hanging baskets and window planters courtesy of Hill House Nursery in Landscove this week. Ashburton Chamber of Trade and Ashburton Post Office have teamed up with the local Nursery to supply the high street with colourful baskets and flowers as part of their “Ashburton in Bloom” campaign.
Lydia Wood, Chair of Ashburton Chamber of Trade, said “It’s been a difficult year and we wanted to make sure the high street is looking it’s best for everyone to enjoy this summer. The business owners have really got behind it, with 17 shops taking part and it’s been a pleasure to work with Hill House Nursery. They’ve done a fantastic job and I’m looking forward to seeing the baskets develop all through the summer.”
As well as traditional flowering summer baskets, some of the businesses opted for wild flower and herb baskets and one local shop owner Catherine Waters said “I’m thrilled with my hanging herb basket from Hill House Nursery. It’s already attracting pollinators, so I’m very happy”.
